Spider mites, scales, aphids, and mealybugs are a few of the most common pests that can attack plants, such as Hoyas. These annoying creatures use their sharp mouths to pierce the flesh of the plant and then suck out its juices, which can cause the leaves to dry out.
The good news is that these pests are usually not a serious issue, and can be treated with insecticidal soap. Insecticidal soap is a non-toxic pesticide that is safe to use indoors around humans and pets. It kills the sap-sucking insects by suffocating them.
